Karl’s career has spanned the globe performing, recording, and producing with Grammy Award winning artists, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members and multitude of internationally acclaimed musicians. Karl has performed with notable artists including: John Lee with Claudio Roditi, Slide Hampton, Clark Terry, Freddie Hendrix, Roberta Gamberini, Mark Gross, Eric Alexander, Jon Faddis and Cyrus Chestnut; The Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All-Stars; Dizzy Gillespie Afro-Latin Experience with Paquito D’Rivera; The Fantasy Band including Dave Valentine, Dave Samuels, Chuck Loeb, Noel Pointer, Roy Ayers; Mark Egan UNIT1; The Bernie Worrell Orchestra; Michael Urbaniak; Andy Snitzer; Edgar Winter; Johnny Winter; The Shirelles (Music Director); The New Voices of Freedom; Howard Paul with guests Tom Scott and Anat Cohen; Ali Ryerson with Mark Egan and Pete Levin; Wolfgang Lackerschmid with Atilla Zoller, Ed Cherry, Cameron Brown and Mark Egan; Johannes Mossinger with Joel Frahm, Calvin Jones, Don Braden, Boris Kozlov and Kermit Driscoll. Karl has subbed on the original Broadway productions of “Bring It On”, “Hamilton”, “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical”, “Ain’t Too Proud” and "Two Strangers".
Karl is co-leader of Big Fun(K) with Don Braden and co lead the “2016 BMW Welt Jazz Award” nominated group “Constellations”. To date Karl has releases as a leader: “Dancing Spirits”, “Resonance”, “Living Standards” with Mark Egan and Vic Juris and "Living Standards II" featuring Wolfgang Lackerschmid, Mark Egan, Henry Hery, Mitch Stein and Roger Squitero.
Karl is an endorsing artist for Yamaha Drums, Paiste Cymbals, ProMark Drumsticks, Evans Drumheads, Big Fat Snare, AEA Microphones, Radial Engineering, Heil Sound, ProLogix Percussion and RME.
Karl is the current Co-Chair of the Percussive Arts Society Education Committee and an adjunct professor at Drew University, County College of Morris, Raritan Valley Community College and Blair Academy.
